Director of Financial Planning and Analysis
Rachele Mills is the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis at Surf 9. As a trusted business partner, she is responsible for strategic planning, forecasting, and sales optimization. A valuable extension to our sales partners, she seamlessly integrates directly into their planning teams to deliver exceptional service to maximize their inventory management. She is responsible for creating and executing product flow plans, that fuel the strategies and success of our partners profitability.
Before joining Surf 9 in 2017, Rachele was the Sr. Director of Merchandise Planning at Chico’s FAS and developed her career at L Brands, spending 14 years in various roles, the last being Director of Merchandise Planning for the Limited Stores brand. Rachele holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Ohio University.
In her free time, Rachele can be found cheering on her twin daughters who play softball and run track and cross country.
Director of Logistics and Compliance
Rita Monde is the Director of Logistics and Compliance at Surf 9, responsible for product testing, production and customer shipping logistics. A vital facilitator for our sales partners, her meticulousness ensures that product is received by our partners both on time and in the correct format. She removes many common distribution pain points for the logistics teams of our sales partners with her robust vendor negotiation skills to ensure there are no delivery delays in product delivery from our manufacturers to North America.
Before joining Surf 9 in 2014, Rita worked in Academia, as a Research Laboratory Supervisor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, as a Project Manager at Purdue University and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Oregon. Rita holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular and Cell Biology from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Trinity College-Hartford.
Rita enjoys the working culture at Surf 9 and bringing her 8-year-old Coonhound mix, “Eden the Elf” to the office. Rita is training Eden in Tracking (human trailing) and plans to enter a AKC Tracking trial soon.
Director of Operations
Vince Matchett is the Director of Operations at Surf 9, responsible for inventory and supply chain management. Responsible for all product operations once merchandise is through customs, he ensures our sales partners receive order fulfillments on-time and with accuracy.
Prior to joining Surf 9 in 2016, Vince spent six years at Chico’s FAS as a New Store Coordinator and four years at Sears Holdings Corporation as a Sr. Associate Buyer. Vince holds a Bachelor of Arts & Sciences degree in Criminal Justice from the University of North Dakota.
In his free time, Vince loves to spend time with his family and friends, including his wife and two children.
Director of Marketing
Matt Verrecchia is the Director of Marketing at Surf 9, responsible for building the Surf 9 brand and the individual brand strategies for each product category. A strategic, solutions-oriented marketer, Matt partners closely with brand leadership to develop innovative content strategies that will drive awareness and consideration of the Surf 9 products in the watersports space.
Prior to joining Surf 9 in 2019, Matt spent three years at Chico’s FAS as the Senior Marketing Manager for White House Black Market. He launched an expansion Professional Soccer team within the North American Soccer League as Director of Marketing Communications and began his career as an Account Executive at the Dalton Agency working with the Jacksonville Jaguars of the NFL. Matt
holds an M.B.A. from the University of Florida Hough Graduate School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Economics from Plymouth State University.
Matt spends his free time kayaking and golfing, and is an avid wine enthusiast.
Director of Sourcing and Supply Chain
Layla Morace is the Director of Sourcing and Supply Chain at Surf 9. A master negotiator, she is a natural extension of our sales partners, managing the whole vendor management process to ensure quality and cost controls. As sales partners create new products, she manages the product structure, manufacturing relationships, and material negotiations to ensure the final product is completed and shipped for an on-time delivery.
Prior to joining Surf 9 in 2018, Layla spent seven years as the Senior Manager of Global Sourcing for White House Black Market, as the Associate Production Manager for Charlotte Russe, in Men’s Apparel Development and Design at VF Corporation, as the Operations Manager for the International Surfing Association and as the International Business Development Coordinator for Reef. Layla holds a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from Western Washington University.
Layla enjoys traveling and hiking with her husband and their canine roommates.
Director of Market Development
Jamie Chenciner is the Director of Market Development at Surf 9, responsible for initiating new channels of distribution for each of the product categories. A creative and enthusiastic team member, he manages the visual presentation of the in-store POP displays, tradeshows as well as alternative sales channels.
Son of founder and CEO John Chenciner, Jamie first joined Surf 9 as an Intern in 2013, while pursuing his degree and has since grown his skills and expertise. Jamie holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing degree from Concordia University.
Jamie spends his weekend exploring the local waterways on his SUP with Winnie (his dog).
